Nicole is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and leading expert in the use of exercise and lifestyle interventions for the prevention and management of Diabetes. She founded Exercise for Rehabilitation & Health in 2006 to realise her dream of bringing research into hands of the people who would benefit from it most - the community. What differentiates her practice from others, is the unique collaborative care model which utilises the strengths of both Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology to maximise outcomes.
She is a passionate advocate for improving children's physical activity and food environments serving as a committee member on Parents Voice Australia and ambassador for Girls Uniform Agenda, a national movement winning its fight to allow girls to have the option of shorts and pants in schools.
She has previously lectured at a postgraduate level at Victoria University (Melbourne) and Southern Cross University (NSW) and served on several advisory boards.
A passionate advocate for community health, Nicole is a sought after public speaker and media commentator on health, exercise and chronic disease prevention, regularly presenting on both TV and radio. She currently collaborates with Diabetes Victoria, the Life! Program and the Cancer Council Victoria's Live Lighter team.
Nicole heavily invests her time into the community as a presenter, writer and advisor for a number of health organisations and enjoys mentoring and developing resources to further the development of the Exercise Physiology profession working closely with Exercise and Sports Science Australia.
A career highlight for Nicole was being called upon to give evidence at a Senate Inquiry into Australia's Obesity Epidemic in August 2018.
